I had the weirdest dream last night. That I was in negotiations to buy an NHL team. Exciting, right? But then it turned out to be the Ottawa Senators. Which, well, more of a nightmare than anything. Is there some form of PTSD that manifests as shitty sports franchises?

What doesn't fit the narrative is that the last three wins came against teams with significantly better records than them. And their loss was to the Pacific division leader. And this is a team on one leg with their goalie issues.

Look, decades of futile Leafs fandom has taught me this: you can't approach this fandom like a Canadians or a Yankees fan. Wait until it gets deep into the season before worrying about things one way or another.
